A Portuguese-Brazilian psychologist and CEO of APL — Apoio e Prevenção do Lipedema (Lipedema Support and Prevention) in Portugal, Valléria Roque has a personal diagnosis of grade IV lipedema and channeled that experience into founding the first Portuguese clinic dedicated entirely to the diagnosis and treatment of the disease. She is the author of the book "O ABC do Meu Lipedema" and researches the psychological impact of lipedema — with a study of her own in 200 women, and having applied the QuASil to 650 Portuguese women patients.
